What is the Old Time Gunfighter Association?
O.T.G.A. competitions involve man-against-man elimination fast draw, shooting at a 24-inch round target, at a distance of 21-feet, using single-action revolvers, western holsters and wax bullets propelled by shotgun primers.
Background
Jack Fritz and I, Jim Standridge, have spent countless hours and numerous phone conversations putting together a sport that creates more shooting, is more profitable, and at the same time gives almost every shooter a chance to share in the glory that previously only a select few have enjoyed.
Although the O.T.G.A. is privately owned it will remain a shooters' association and will be conducted as such. O.T.G.A. has shooters in mind, and will never stray from the shooter's best interest. Clubs are not charged association fees of any kind.
Overview
There are two categories for men and one category for women. The mens categories are Gunfighter and Gunslinger. All monies, including entry fees, are awarded evenly; one half going to Gunfighter, and one half going to Gunslingers. Gunfighter and Gunslinger categories are separate and will not overlap in any way as far as shooting times. Women shoot in their own category for their own money.
